Beneath a storm-darkened amber sky, a lone wild horse stands exposed to the elements, a powerful presence in an uncertain world.
This mixed-media work incorporates my own photography taken at Return to Freedom, a wild horse sanctuary in California. Part of Postcards from the Wild Horse, it reflects the vulnerability of wild horses, the importance of protecting their natural habitats, and our responsibility to preserve their freedom to live as wild animals.
An early release from the collection, Last Horse Standing will be exhibited at the Dutch Equine Art Fair in Amsterdam.
