Beneath Fiery Skies
Postcards from the Wild Horse — Early Release
A herd of wild horses stands together on a hillside beneath a fiery sky, a reminder of the wild landscapes they call home and the growing threat of wildfires that can destroy the land they depend upon. Their silhouettes capture both the strength of the herd and the vulnerability of a way of life increasingly under pressure.
The painting is part of Postcards from the Wild Horse, a collection of small original paintings developed during my time as Artist in Residence at Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in California. Living alongside wild horses, observing their relationships and witnessing their lives unfold in the landscape profoundly shaped my practice.
An early release from Postcards from the Wild Horse, this work will be exhibited at the Dutch Equine Art Fair in Amsterdam.
Artwork Details:
Original mixed-media painting
Oil and wax on board
24 × 24 × 4.5 cm
Deep dark brown wood float frame
