Gather Weather Together captures the instinct to draw close when the elements turn against us. It speaks of the quiet strength found in togetherness, and the bonds that hold a herd together through times of uncertainty.
The painting is part of Postcards from the Wild Horse, a collection of small original paintings developed during my time as Artist in Residence at Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in California. Living alongside wild horses, observing their relationships and witnessing their lives unfold in the landscape profoundly shaped my practice.
Through this collection, I explore the freedom, instinct and social bonds of wild horses, while reflecting on our relationship with the natural world and the importance of protecting what remains wild.
